Date: September 28, 2013
Description:
September 28 marks the launch of the International Day for the Decriminalization of Abortion. Together, Caribbean DAWN and Quality of Citizenship Jamaica are organising a stand in support of Jamaican women’s reproductive health and rights that are currently denied under the Jamaican laws.
Anti-abortion laws have never prevented abortions; they have only made it unsafe for women. It is full time we stepped away from the 1864 law meant to regulate women’s fertility. The time is now for the protection of women’s rights, women’s bodies, women’s health and well-being and to accept women’s capacity to decide for themselves.
Come out and Join us on Saturday 28 September 2013 @ 5:30 pm, Emancipation Park, Kingston.
WOMEN – DECIDE. SOCIETY – RESPECTS. STATE – GUARANTEES. RELIGIONS DO NOT INTERVENE.
