The Global Day of Action for Access to Safe and Legal abortion is an opportune moment to burgeon our cross-movement collaboration, building on the recent release of an opinion piece in the Mail and Guardian, in relation to the Marikana incident, signed by some of you, responding to Errol Naidoo from the Family Policy Institute.

We want to provide a space for dialogue on strategies for mutual support and alliance building in the areas where we work which are on the edges of human rights, whether access to abortion, decriminalisation of sex work, addressing issues for lesbians and transpersons in particular transwomen.

WISH/WGNRR/HBS would like to invite you to join with other human rights organisations working on Health and Sexual and Reproductive Rights for a dialogue on ways to combine our efforts in the promotion of a culture of Human Rights in our society.

Our agenda starts with presentations from by WGNRR, SWEAT, Triangle, Gender DynamiX on the question:

‘Our Human Rights issues that you should know about and we would like your support on’

The floor will then be open for others to input in answering the same question.

The time together will be facilitated by Marion Stevens from WISH Associates

We wish to work together in the formation of a loose network to support each other and explore strategies to advance our work.

The dialogue will take place on 28th September at the Offices of the Heinrich Boell Foundation from 10:00 to 12:00 (refreshments will be served)

Venue: The Avalon Building I| 123 Hope Street/ Gardens 8001 | Cape Town | South Africa

RSVP by the 26. September to: Camelita.Witbooi@za.boell.org
